Baker Lake Nunavut
Also known
as: Qamani’tuaq, "where the river widens."
When you
stand in the middle of Baker Lake you are at the geographical center of
Canada. Baker Lake is surrounded by hundreds of kilometers of tundra.
Many rivers flow into Baker Lake including the Thelon
and the Kazan
which have been designated Canadian Heritage Rivers. These rivers are
premier areas for canoeists from around the world to
experience the challenge of paddling through the incredible vastness
and beauty of the Arctic.
Baker
Lake's Inuit
